Sunday, May 8

It was great to see everyone after Passover break!
This week we had a great time assembling our own pita and falafel while learning about the Our Land - the land of Israel.  We were also very excited to write mothers day cards for our best mom's; we then presented it to them with a beautiful rose.

Morah Leah/Mushky's class began an in depth unit on the land of Israel and it's history. The students had a fabulous time using their engineering skills to build the wall of Jericho and learn about the Jews entering the land. They look forward to more building throughout the unit.

Chai Hebrew School would like to wish Morah Leah Mazel Tov on the birth of her baby boy!

Dear Parents,

It was great to see everyone again after Passover Break.
We had a really great day at Hebrew School!
In Aleph Champ we are really progressing and moving up levels. This week Samara, Sam and Max B. all moved up a level.
We are so proud of our Champs!

Morah Rivkys class learned about the next Jewish leader Yehoshua and his heroic capture of Jericho. The class then joined together to map out and create a 3D map, with jelly beans and tooth picks, of the city Jericho that was conquered.
Morah Frumie class learned all about eating Kosher. They learned the signs of a kosher animal and fish. They learned that we try to not eat milk and meat together and they started making their very own place mats.
Morah Gnendys class learned about the different Mitzvot we perform with a candle/fire for example: Shabbat candles, Menorah, Havdalah etc. They learned about fire safety and how these Mitzvot can be preformed safely.

Looking forward to a great week ahead!

Pesach

Dear Parents,

It has been quite a while since we have updated our blog.. We are excited to share with you all we have been doing at Hebrew School!
The past few weeks we have been preparing for the upcoming holiday of Pesach. Some classes made Seder plates, others made their own personal Haggadahs, some made pillows and some place mats..
All participated in a Pesach Model Seder that they prepared themselves!

Enjoy the pictures! Wishing you and your family a Happy Pesach!

Dear Parents,

We had a great day at Hebrew School this week!
In Morah Gnendys class they learned about a Mezuzah. They learned that we place a Mezuzah at every doorpost. Inside a mezuzah it has the prayer of Shema and because it is holy and a protection for our home, as we walk by the mezuzah we try to kiss it.

In Morah Frumies class they learned about the 6 days of creation. They learned what Hashem created in the world on each day and learned on the 7th day Hashem rested. The 7th day is Shabbat and every week on Shabbat we remember how Hashem rested and it is a day of rest for us. Next week they will continue to learn about Shabbat and the different customs. (Pics to follow next week!)

In Morah Rivkys class they learned about the next Jewish hero Yaakov. Yaakov loved to learn Torah, do Mitzvot and treated his parents with respect. Yaakov had a brother Eisev who loved to hunt animals and behaved very different from Yaakov.
We are so proud of our Aleph Champ champions Aiden, Max and Ben for moving up a level in Aleph Champ! We are so proud of you!

It was great to be back in Hebrew school after winter break!

We all had such a great time during Aleph Champ & Hebrew Language.
We learned many new words as part of our Hebrew Through Movement unit. We are very proud of the progress of our students and many are nearly ready to pass their level! Great job Sammy, Aviva and Lucas for moving up a level in Aleph Champ!

We had a great time at Youth Lounge. We first enjoyed hotdogs and fries for lunch. We then split up between sports, board games and duc taping art. Was such fun!

Morah Chana class -We  have been working towards earning  enough points for a special trip. This week they have accumulated enough points! After Tefillah and Aleph champ time, they went to the Kosher Ice cream House where they enjoyed delicious treats.

Morah Frumie's class- After taking a break to learn about the holiday of Chanukah, we went straight back to our curriculum focusing on different fundamentals in Judaism. This week we learned about the written and oral part of the Torah.

Morah Leah and Chana-  Morah Leah and Chana enjoyed a  unit on " MyPalette: The Torah Edition" A very exciting unit all about food, nutrition, and cooking. Where our students will learn about what Jewish wisdom and modern food science teach us about eating healthy food.
